Nancy Cohen
is a professor at Long Island University's C.W. Post Campus located in
Brookville, NY. She teaches several undergraduate and graduate courses including Education,
Educational Psychology, Elementary
Mathematics and Elementary Social Studies
and
works closely with her students, supervising and guiding them through their
student teaching requirements and observing them in a classroom setting.
In addition to
working in the classroom environment, Professor Cohen
lectures and conducts seminars which discuss the implementation
of INTASC Standards for Portfolios in New York State. These seminars are
designed for faculty members as well as prospective student teachers and
cover topics from education to writing to mathematics.
A graduate of Adelphi University, with a B.S.,
Professor Cohen
holds an M.S. in Early Childhood and Elementary education from C.W. Post
College at Long Island University. She is Licensed in New York State and
certified from levels N-6. As a tenured teacher since February 1, 1991,
she has worked in District #24, Union Free School District, Valley Stream,
NY and is currently affiliated with the Great Neck Union Free School
District.
